about

The space between almost and done. I lived there for years. It’s the place where so many ideas go to wait – in the drawer, in the folder marked “just about done,” or never leaving your mind at all. Ideas we talk about so often, over a cup of coffee, at a barbecue / braai, or while complaining about the job we’ve sat in year after year, hoping things could be different. Yet day in and day out, we do more of what we did the day, the week, the month and the year before.

The space between almost and done. Maybe you know it too.

Everything you read, experience and explore here is for anyone still standing in that space, telling themselves it’s too late, too saturated, not quite ready.

It isn’t. Take the step.

For me, that step came the day I heard someone say that a project done 99% is as good as not done at all. It hit me hard. I said, “That’s it, I’m done” – done waiting to feel ready, done waiting for perfect.

This is nicky jae’s haven – the home for all of it, for the space between almost and done. A place to be unfinished, and to finish anyway.

As long as I breathe,
I learn,
I live,
I lead.
